Fernando Facio Jr., MD, PhD, was a Research Fellow in the Department of Urology at Johns Hopkins University (2008-2009) under the supervision of Dr. Arthur L. Burnett. His research experience is in erectile dysfunction including its physiology and regulation of penile rehabilitation. He is experienced in animal surgeries, biochemistry, physiology and molecular biology. He manages the prostate cancer programs in Sao Jose do Rio Preto, Brazil, where he works with high-risk populations (AfroBrazilians, family risk, etc.) as well as in educating medical students and the general public.
He has a strong background and long experience in clinical trials with several pharmaceutical companies and as a speaker in international conferences. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Urology of the School of Medicine in Sao Jose do Rio Preto (FAMERP) and Professor of undergraduate courses in Medicine and Graduate Studies in Health Sciences of FAMERP, Coordinator of the Research Group on Sexual Medicine in CNPq. Member of the Brazilian Society of Urology (SBU), American member of the International Urological Association (AUA) and member of the International Society of Sexual Medicine (ISSM) - Education Committee. It has experience in Urology with an emphasis on men's health, mainly in the following themes: erectile dysfunction, priapism, Peyronie's disease, premature ejaculation, male androgenic disorders of aging.
