A step forward: AME Case Reports is indexed in PubMed/PMC

Published: 2018-08-17

We are delighted to announce that the AME Case Reports (ACR) (Figure 1) has passed all the evaluation required by PubMed Central (PMC). PMC is a free, full-text archive of biomedical and life science journal articles maintained by the US National Institutes of Health’s National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM). Articles deposited in PMC are also searchable from the NIH/NLM PubMed database, which is perhaps the most familiar citation database to researchers around the world.

All articles published in ACR from 2018 onwards are available in PubMed/PMC. The previously published articles will be searchable in PubMed/PMC within 1-2 months. Acceptance in this prominent database speaks highly to the quality of the published works and the journal’s significant potential. ACR would like to express sincere appreciation for the enthusiastic and vigorous support and contributions from all the board members, reviewers, authors and readers.

Launched in September 2017, ACR is an international, open access, peer-reviewed online journal publishing original and educationally valuable case reports in all medical disciplines including oncology, pulmonology, cardiothoracic disease and urology etc.. ACR aims to provide clinical information on common and rare cases in all medical disciplines for healthcare professionals, researchers and others.

Till now, ACR has published 47 articles in various topics. Four special columns were launched, “Case Reports in Otolaryngology”, “Case Reports in Gastrointestinal Surgery”, “Case Reports in Urology” and “Case reports in Cardiology” (Table 1). Considering that special columns would benefit readers more intensively, ACR is planning to launch more columns in the future.

Case reports are seldom cited and often rejected by many journals, especially high impact ones, to protect their impact factors, which frustrated healthcare professionals, researchers and so on. To encourage and appreciate case report’s authors, ACR established a special page

“Corresponding Authors” to highlight their information and works (Figure 2).

The inclusion of ACR in PubMed/PMC heralds a new beginning! We are confident in achieving new progress with the consistent support from us.
